Outdoor education and Forest School areas have been provided with equipment and materials to help the children explore, appreciate and work with the wonderful resource the school has created.
Aug 2020 - Gretton Village Hall - Energy Efficient Heating System and Controls
New energy efficient oil-filled electric radiators, with remote electronic smart-phone controls were fitted in January 2021
Jun 2020 - Alderton Allotment Association - Water Butts and Compost Bins
The Association kitted out their allotment holders with 20 water butts and compost bins
Apr 2019 - Alderton Village Hall - LED Lighting
Alderton Village Hall Committee applied for funding to replace aged and failing lighting with energy efficient LED replacements, reducing the greenhouse footprint and enhancing the utility of this important community resource.
Mar 2019 - Gretton Playing Fields - Forest School Fencing
Gretton Play School applied for funding to safeguard its Forest School activities on the Playing Field, with a fence. Shortly after the work was completed, the Play School ceased operation but Gretton School will be running their Forest School sessions there.
Oct 2018 - Gretton School - Recycling Bins and Spotter Books
To further extend the School's Ecozone and Recycling initiatives Green Fields Trust funded recycling bins and wildlife spotter books
Apr 2018 - Alderton Parish Council - Solar Panels on Alderton Playing Field Changing Rooms
Alderton Parish Council applied for a grant to install solar panels on the roof of the changing rooms on the playing field. They provide hot water for the showers.
Apr 2018 - Gretton School - Eco Centre
As part of a large project to update the school playground the School had plans for an Eco Zone to encourage the children, parents and staff to think about the impact we all have on the environment.
